Re: Apartmen among the stars
Small tidbits really:
1. Your earth image looks compressed, maybe get a higher resolution one?
2. the shelf looks like it's floating? And it doesnt seem to have a texture?
3. The couches look more like separate pieces than a whole.
4. Your table doesnt have a base and hence looks unstable (or is it bolted into the ground?)
5. The border between the edge of your ships window and the image looks odd, alsmost like Slection --> Feather
6. Theres a black triangle between the little guy's legs.

Re: Apartmen among the stars
The earth should be much, much brighter... and some blue light should from it into the room.
Plus, think of some Sci-fi-style furniture... unless you plan something steampunk!

Another shot.. There is a bedroom next door and a shower..What I have here is basically a living room of sorts..
I added the sun.. So basically, the colony ship would be just passing the earth as it orbits the sun.

Re: Apartmen among the stars
At that distance it would better orbit the Earth
It is deep into sublunar space.
How's the colony managing gravity ? Has it a shape ? Could some portions of it be seen from that viewpoint ?
Drop your ideas somewhere so you can then proceed with those you like more

So exactly how earth is lit? If Sun is t it's back we should be seen the Earth shadow zone..neo0. wrote:Another shot.. There is a bedroom next door and a shower..What I have here is basically a living room of sorts..

Re: Apartmen among the stars
Well, the colony would be be built in the far future so there would be some sort of artificial gravity.. I haven't thought of a good design for the colony itself though.
Re: Apartmen among the stars
hmm if the sun were directly visible like that, you definitely wouldn't see anything else because of its relative brightness. also, it would be basically pure white in colour unless tinted by the window, which would also affect the earth's colour (if it were discernable because of aforementioned brightness).
it's an interesting idea for a scene, but you gotta make like stanley kubric in space odyssey and make it realistic
reminds a bit of this recent xkcd:

YO
Neo0. Instead of lighting your scene by somthing unseen that casts shadows like what we see, maybe you should design some fixtures and lamps, and these would light up the scene.
Even in Star Trek, Stargate, Cosmos1999, etc... every futuristuc/alien/sci-fi technologies have lamps design. it would add realism and details to yer scene, because for the moment, it is all grey and maybe, you beter remove this character, and privilege a human pov.
work on it
