I wish I could test it personally and get to the root of these OSX problems.

Unfortunately I don't own an Intel Mac, and I'm relying on good accurate error reports from users and the support of Glare themselves.

Doubly unfortunately, there is still a lack of information which I can use to fix the errors; and I'm not sure I'll be able to do it without running the code myself on a compatible OSX system, which 3x-unfortunately are damn expensive, even second hand :(

AUD$849.00 delivered to your door for a base mac mini is "damn expensive"?

Blendigo works fine here, aside from the autorun function, which I never bothered problem-solving. I just export igs's and render them separately. it's not really that much trouble. I use Blender 2.49, the most recent Blendigo and the most recent Indigo on OSX snow leopard. and yes, for some people mac's seem damn expensive, but Glare should maybe invest a little more in the mac side of things, there are certainly a good number of us mac users out there.

For the time being, yes, money is still kinda tight in Casa Dougal.

I've pointed out to Ben that amongst the Indigo 2.4 UI/"Make everything easier" overhaul, we should also be looking at more reliable installers and co-operation between the Indigo installer and Exporter installers (or perhaps a combined installer that takes care of everything).

I've found that on OSX the autorun works, by launching Indigo properly although once Indigo is open the rendering does not actually start.

Perhaps if you can tell me where your Indigo and Blender apps are located, and any error messages printed in the console output from Blender we can get you running a bit more smoothly ?

It's issues like this that will help us to understand the differences we are likely to face between setups on different user's machines and using the knowledge gained from your feedback we can hopefully build more intelligent installers that account for those differences.

No problem should go unreported, it's all useful !! :)

you're absolutely right. I should be a bit more proactive.
I'll see if I can do a little diagnostic of my situation later on and will report back.

We're investing hard in the mac ui, i'm a mac user myself, and Indigo 2.4 is the project of fused and myself, and we want a super consistent and good looking ui. :)

so I was able to get the autorun to work.
as was mentioned, it launches Indigo, but does not start the render. I had to change my location file to read "/Applications/Indigo/Indigo 2.2.12/Indigo.app"

I wonder if it would be best to have a dialog on the first start up of a new Blendigo installation to browse for your Indigo.app and have Blendigo keep track of the location? not sure if this is possible.

Hi ewa,

Thanks for the report. Can you provide the .blend file which causes this failure ?
Something is going wrong with a Blender->Indigo material conversion.

Cheers,
Doug.

(PS. in future try to be a bit more accurate with version numbers; I highly doubt you're using python 1.5.1 and OSX 12.x ;) )

Hi dougal2

sorry i am not a programer .blender file? where to find it?

Python works ok on my machine

I think I might be missing the .indigo/location file but I have no idea how to create it?

The .blend file is the scene file that you are working on.

The .indigo/location file should be created by the Blendigo installer, however this mechanism has been notoriously unreliable. The error you reported doesn't seem to have anything to do with the location file.

Did you hit F2 and save the scene at any point ? How do you normally save your blender scenes ?
