Aperture Diffraction Bug

Post by SaphireS » Thu Jul 08, 2010 10:56 am

Hey guys, I got a weird bug related to (PostPro) Aperture Diffraction. (again)
Looks similar to the one in the caterpillar testscene but you said it was related to SSS and well...there's absolutely no SSS material in my scene. :|
Just tried to do an Alpha render.

Your "AD ON" results looks really awesome ^^

Anyway... I'm sure you can speed up bug-hunt by submitting a igs+meshes scene glare could test with ;-)

Took me some time to strip down the scene until it's small enough to upload.
Anyway here it is:

If I refer to the igs file, the bug happens when BOTH aperture and post-process are set to true. Exporters should not allow that... and Indigo should not take it :)

At least that's a starting point. ;)
I'm using latest blendigo for Blender 2.4x btw.

So how should it be set?
Because I sure don't get any diffraction with only PP set true.

That's embarassing, really... you are right dag :) As I stated in another thread, the change wasn't documented.

Upon trial it seems that aperture_diffraction alone must be set to true in order to trig... post_process_diffraction.

aperture_diffraction itself is not available in recent Indigo betas, the tag has just become a misnomer.
