Green living
Green living
Hi guys, this is a wip I'm currently modelling and rendering.
SketchUp 7 as usual; Indigo version varies, given the speed Ono releases new installers
Crits and comments please!

Re: Green living
Very nice! I must say that the ca in the second image is way too hefty. It is visible even in this small version.
Your lights stand no chance against the Indigo sun!
Re: Green living
I'm impressed by the pixel filtering, very neat images. Not only that Pibuz, nice scene ! It's forcing to nitpicking
For some reason I can't feel the weight of the chairs, could either be their orientation or height relative to the camera; or the to glossy/white floor loosing contact with'em... impressions anyways.
Another detail of personal importance is that the composite glass panel is cutting through that nice banding up to the wall, that's inelegant imo.
I would look into adding lots of surface details with such neat renders, using bump or more... well, inspiring ones, Pibuz !

Re: Green living
Pibuz, that is some really incredible modelling there. Have you ever considered making a few modelling tutorials? I think many people are under the impression that sketchup can only be used to model simply, boxy things (like buildings from google earth.)
Re: Green living
I'm really glad you like these ones guys! Thank you for your sincere feedback!
Olis:
I'm experimenting some new post-process techinques: maybe I over-used CA!
BTW it is only a wip: errors will finally lead me to a good result! Thank you for reporting!
CTZn:
Thank you my friend: I'll try to give some more "physicalness" to the chairs. About the glass-block wall and general inelegant solutions, I must say that I'm trying to achieve sort of a "familiar scene", not a neat archiviz image in the original meaning of the word: the furniture has to be somehow common, and I tried to put in the scene "non conventional" architectural solutions, as I often see in my friends' homes. So, some unappropriate detail is wanted. BTW, this can be surely improved. Thank you for your suggestions!
Benn:
Thank you Ben! BTW I always feel like my images lack something that make them real.. This time I can figure this sensation is given by the camera position, a little "unreal" after all. I'm still learning, what else can I say? So be patient
PureSpider:
Correct specification. Architecture, always architecture.
Neo0:
You'd be baffled if you knew the real amount of modeling in this scene.
Most of the times, I gather some good models (I spend lots of time purging the mess) here and there (warehouse and Archive3d), and then only put them together in the scene. I have to say that the only part modeled by me concerns the architecture, so walls, windows, doors, details. handrails, balconies and stuff. No object modeling, AT ALL. I'm kind of a cheater.
Glad you like the images though! Thank you!

Re: Green living
Hey Pibuz, I got to totally adopt your point on casual architecture, go on with it !
I would insist on adding more texture details in order to kill surfaces flatness. Using bump, or displacement preferably.
However, smooth is nice.

I'll try to add something..dirty! Thank you CTZn.
This is a little up, cooked last night (BEFORE your comments and suggestions).

Re: Green living
Great scene!
Some suggestions:
- maybe you should spotlight to the ceiling on the very left, it's very dark yet
- the lack of light in the front adds a nice mood to the scene, but I'd try to lit it up a little bit... maybe blueish, by skylight, instead of black. Very decent, but it might add more life to the lighting.
Go on!

Re: Green living
Nothing to crit - its simply beautiful!
Re: Green living
ha that is a very nice scene, and i always love the way you arrange the objects in space.
My one and only critic is that i really find the atmosphere very dark, and that it makes the sunlight burn a little,i mean there is a lot of contrast .
I think that this effect is beautiful for images, but not for everyday. otherwise, i really like the scene.
Is it maybe because your walls and ceiling are grey?
Congratz!

Re: Green living
Right on, guys. This is a little update. I'm a little embarassed about the right part of the scene, which is actually blank. Tips? SUGGESTIONS?
Thank you for your feedback!
PS. Lots of filter in this: trying to find a good combination

Re: Green living
That would be a distinct paradigm, but you could rotate the view around the center of the scene to make the righmost furniture visible between the two pillars, that might open the space a bit. It's tadly opressing atm
Or perhaps re-orient that kitchen against the inner wall ? Less spectacular but any more convenient ?
