[REQ] Longer Shutter Speeds
I am playing with using emitters to simulate car lights, as in streaks of light, but the 1 sec shutter speed isn't long enough to get the effect I'm after.
if we could get the speeds extended to 30-60 secs that would be awesome and would fit in with the Indigo concept of being a 'truly' digital camera
Hmmm I think there might be a good advertising slogan buried in that last sentence for Glare

There's no limit on shutter speed, or 'exposure duration' as it's called in Indigo. Maybe it's an exporter limitation? What exporter do you use?

Thats interesting - so I should be able to set the speed or duration in the .igs file? As a temporary measure I'll check that out.

I tried it for fun. Works fine here.
Shutter Speed = 1/3.2

Cool!
Why are these streaks so egdy? Is it because the motions path is edgy, too?

Re: [REQ] Longer Shutter Speeds
This is something I need to improve in Maxigo. Currently only 10 keyframes are taken account when exporting motion blur. (total animation time is divided by 10). That's why smooth motions appear to be edgy. Can't show a perfect arc with 10 frames. I need to change this to be dynamic. Nah.. long story.zeitmeister wrote:Cool!

Using a path Suvakas?. I can't seem to use a path in Blendigo as the object tracking the path, ie the headlights, then seems to have no keyframes of its own and Indigo/Blendigo just shows it as a static object.
Of course it's probably more to do with my noobness of Blender and animation

Re: [REQ] Longer Shutter Speeds
You know I've been thinking about this.
Why don;t I just fake it in Indigo. Just use a curve/mesh shaped like the light streaks and place an emitter material to it. No need to anmimate for a still image? Might give that a try as well...
so much to do so little time....

How can we accomplish this effect in Cindigo?

Nope. Handmade animation with 3 bezier keyframes.Doug Armand wrote:Using a path Suvakas?.
Yep, this could also work. You may not get such blurred edges though.Doug Armand wrote:Just use a curve/mesh shaped like the light streaks and place an emitter material to it.

Quick test using curves in Blender. Think it could work with some tweaking
