Awesome Whaat! The only thing that bugs me is, ... the TV!
You can't dim a TV do ya?!

haha!! You're right! But in Indigo, you CAN dim a TV! :) Actually the image on the TV is what bugs me. For some reason, the image of the sunset came out sideways!!

Great test!
Ben should place it on the website as a demo for layer-blending.
Cheers, David

Yes however it would be better if it were streaming from the page. More people will watch it that way.

Most likely rendered the scene with all the "lights on" and played with the light layers and waited for indigo to pass the save period to copy the .png to a new file until each individual changes scene in the video were done, and used a video editing software to blend it all. I think it is the easiest and most "popular" method.

Well thats not very long, especially if you have a very short save period....

Hmm, but for such an animation you should have at least 15fps,
better 25fps to have a smooth transition. So it will need definately
some time. Maybe I'm missing something tho. ;)

Hehe yes you are, you only need the "extreme points" the interpolation is done by the video editor, you'll say "frame 0, image001 100%" "frame 45, image001 0%" (at which point image002 will show up completely and then you repeat this for all the images you have)

Oooh, yes of course. I was still in the "unbiased" mode and thought about an unbiased solution.
Well, then it's even better to have .exr support to be able to blend these in post.

Thanks for the input mate! ;)

In other words: he saved each light layer on a separate image after it was converged, by setting the other layers off. Then mixed them together back in a video editing software.

I think your explanation was a bit confusing in first instance, Borgleader, so I dared :)

I wish the next layer blending video will tell a story, for instance by blending the daylight continuously all over the animation, and using stupid switches for lamps ;)

Probably the best one around, nice whaat !
