Pane is textured diffuse_transmitter, leaves are 28% diffuse_transmitter 72% phong. Cropped 2x100px left and right.
Mixed pane with 33% null material. Rendering time was around 1h for first image and 40mn for the second (both MLT, sampling x2).
The dancing Bamboo (movie: 4s@12fps, 720x576/2 ~5mn30/200spp/frame).

WoW they look really good but...the light reflections on the apples looks off to me. I'm thinking the exponent might be too low.

the fruit bowl is lit by a EnvMap + 5 studio lights. a light bump Map + a exponentMap with b @ 200 and IOR of 1.85.... maybe I should simply raise c by 20 and raise the IOR a little...
camera Tonemapping could enhance the reflections too... I'll keep on trying!

I think it all depends wether they were washed, varnished sometimes (with a thin edible wax layer) or just natural. I think they look perfect as natural, water washed but now dry, apples
exponent B seems already too high for the rough surface of natural apples, and C too low btw
So that really depends on how you want to qualify those apples, Zom-B, to me they are fine !

Ok, here the final image...
Tweaked bump Map + Exponent Map and also some settings to get some nice polished waxy apples
Camera tonemapping used with a sharp MN Filter with Ring = 0.5 and Blur = 0.
A little color correction in PS, also some denoising for the BG a slightly sharpen filter and enhanced vignetting plus some glow.
I call this one final!

apples that shiny are usually a bit deeper and richer in color. The lighter colored ones don't usually have such a rough specular effect. Or possibly I've never seen waxed apples. Just a little more color richness.
