Applying a bump map to phong shader

Sorry for asking this dumb question, but the doc for MtI is still down.
How do I add a bump map when using a phong shader (not the IndigoShader Node, the maya Phong Node!)?
Putting a file texture into the bump slot as normal doesnt work.

Sure it doesnt ! You must plug a bump2d node between them, just like usual :)

Note that the depth must be entered in meters, whatever the global scale is (ie 0.001 = 1 mm depth).

I'd that bump node used. However I think the problem was that Maya 2009 had for some reason loaded the older scripts from my maya 2008 prefs. I've deleted those, (didnt solve this unexpected element stuff, tho) to get the correct svn version. I'll test it later.
