Limits on number of network slaves that can connect?

Post by danbush » Tue Sep 30, 2008 7:03 am

I am trying to get out my first production rendering using my machine (4GB, dual core) as a master and several office laptops (2GB, single-core) as slaves. When I only have the master and one slave, the slave uploads frames consistently every 90 seconds. When I connect more than one slave, none of them ever complete a frame upload. I've trid swapping machines as the slave but it only works if there is one - and only one - slave connected at a time.

I've tried running the slaves using the explicit -h switch as well as without, allowing the slaves to find and connect to the master themselves.

I know I've left out all kinds of info such as image size, etc. but it has not seemed to matter any: I've tried on a 640x480 size and a 3,000x1,800 - same results.

Anyone else having this issue and/or have input on how to correct this?
