Wyt calc'd a diamonds IOR and cauchy_b in this thread:
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/fo ... 9994#39994
Indigo Material Values:
<ior>2.37817367558084</ior>

<cauchy_b_coeff>0.01375252357359</cauchy_b_coeff>

I just calculated those from some sellmeier's I found for CVD Diamond; a 'manufactured' diamond...probably not quite the same as jeweler type diamond but shouldn't be too far off. This diamond would have a quoted IoR of 2.41 notice how the Cauchy A is somewhat lower than that.

Good to know, thanks cpfresh! That means this one is quite a bit more dispersive than the real deal. All well.

Here's an update of the render (hope you don't mind tobak):)

are there some intersections, where the diamonds get black? Looks good but seems to be a bit wrong...

@tobak (as it's your scene^^) - I'd like to see a more focused light so that one can see the caustics of the ring on the floor :)

Yep, and I moved the floor up a TEENSY bit too much so the very bottom of the main diamond is black.

Fantastic render there. I love it.

Its my girlfriends dream ring. She basically designed it and wanted to see how it looked like in real. Thanks a lot zsouthboy.

I don't find the aperture width in the igs file. I am running the indigo 1.0.9 for linux 64 bit.

It's inside the <camera> element, you can't miss it.
