Well I though out of making a grass floor using the blender tutorial approach and the recent instances of instances thread, yet it fails to render what shows on cinema...
Anyone knows what the problem might be? Lack of memory? Indigo isn't using much though, 40Mb roughly

Sorry Pixie, read your Post while working and simply havnt seen the attached file!
But my answer is still correct
you generated so much instances, that if if select them all and declare a new reference Object,
its hown the right way in C4D, but the instances still don't use only this reference, buy some stay at the old
simply select some of the last instances, and you'll see they are still referring to leaps.161.
Seems like a C4D bug to me!
To prevent this, try to assign the main Reference after each multiplying and instance generation.
