It would be nice if you could fix Indigo so that it works with spherical HDRIs, sometimes it's a pain to have to convert all of them to lat/long format.

i've used spherical HDRI using .float file

so i open the hdr in photoshop and just save it with .float on the end
thats what i did

That will render correct? Dont think so.
Core2duo e6600 @ 3.1GHz watercooled at default VCore ^^

Or use hdrshop : panoramic transformations -> latlong to spherical

You mean the other way round?
I only have spherical hdrs.
Whats the best way for me?
- convert them to lat long and save them as exr?

Changing a lat/long probe to spherical won't make Indigo use the spherical mapping.
@Vienna: Yes, right now you have to convert spherical to lat/long in HDRshop and convert to EXR.

spherical .float files seem to work for me.

set the camera angle to 180 degress and render a shot of the sky hemisphere - then you know if it is mapped the right way.
Core2duo e6600 @ 3.1GHz watercooled at default VCore ^^

I did a first test with a chrome ball. It is mapped the right way

I guess, latLong is better than spherical...
Though, the less distortion due to changing the map mode, the better as the quality will decrease with each conversion...
