Another test using my technique:

I'm looking at a glass full of water right now, and it seems to roughly match the refraction effects.
Need some kind of more accurate test.

Lego's model is good, but can someone make me a smooth glass?
I don't have any polygonal glasses like that here :)

Note that the glass+water object has to have the 3 material areas as i described!

That's more or less the solution I have described :)

instead of asking a smooth glass you should go out and buy a polygonal one!

I have a question: If I wanted to model some water pouring on a glass surface, with your technique I'd have to "cut" the glass under the water to set the glass-water material? This could be a problem!

I hope I explained myself -_- It isn't always so easy to explain something with another language :?

Yes, this is the biggest drawback to this technique
