"Astra. Was dagegen?"

Post by Zom-B » Tue Oct 24, 2006 2:31 am

I started to model a Beer Bottle of the famous Beer Brand Astra, over here in Hamburg - Germany... :D

Image

Indigo 0.65 - Reinhard 1, 1 - burn 0.65.
IOR of the bottle is 1.4 and of the beer its 1.5, don't know if this is perfect...

At the moment I try to scan the label (got to find someone with a scanner first^^),
but at the and I think I have to "model" it to get the golden Part shiney...

here are som examples of the great Astar print advertise:

Very nice!
But the bottle cup is too glossy. Make less exponent or use another nkdata

I tried some random bumpMap image at Aluminum...
Had to check for a more golden nk mat, less exponent and do a custom Bump :)

Zom-b Is the bottle hollow inside with water? If it is, the wall of the bottle looks a little thick. I know that it's modeling but might it affect the rendering of the inside beer?

p.s. I vote for the second advert :D
"To be, or not to be" That is a question?

Try this:
IOR water: ~1.33
IOR glass: ~1.52

This diagram shows the way to archieve the most correct liquid+glass result: (by Thomas An.)

Thanks a lot manitwo.... this should help... after I understood this O_o
somehow... someday...

This seems like faking the model, to archive a real looking result :?

is the Capillarity the "surface tension", and if it is, why with glas material O_o

I knew you guys would like the blonde... who woudn't?
(Text translated: "somewhere the text has to be!")

Here is a small Update for the Bottle, still in the way I started,
got to otimize colors of bottle & Beet, and than try manitwo's
tip for the model...

I found out, that the IOR of beer is 1.345
The Cap isn't NK Mat for Gold, but "Ni3si.nk"...

Image

btw: Rendered with 0.66 and it seems to be much faster  got to test this!
***EDIT***
I benchmarked v0.65 compared to 0.66 and the new one seems to be "only" 1% faster

Yo,
I'm gonna have a think about how to render this correctly, the technique of Thomas An will almost certainly not work correctly with Indigo.

Would be nice if you could drop some Lines about this Topic Nick :)
At the moment I'm very happy with the rendering!

I stared long time at the bottle and compared what I saw to the Rendering...
now bottle is empy and I need a new one

Only the part under the Cap, these sharp edges shoud be much softer,
like in the first post render, but I think the IOR of the Glass is fault

Doing it the Thomas An-way is creating a much more messed up scenario :)
I'll post my test when it's done rendering if you want

Anyway, good so far, Zom-B 8)

thanks arneoog :)

would be great if you could post a "Thomas An-way" testrender :D
btw: your Cola bottle is done also the "real life" way, with thik glas,
and a model inside for fluid, isn't it?
What IOR do you used for the Bottle?

ATM, I got some work to get done,
so the Bottle has to wait till I get some free time and a six-pack of motivator Fluid

Thanks for help everybody!!!
