Not so simple interior

Post by BbB » Sat Oct 20, 2007 7:56 am

Hi guys. A slightly more crowded interior this time. The sofa, stools and chairs are from Modelup. The rest is me. This was rendered over 20 hours on a quad core @ 4x 2.44G and resolution of 2400x1800. The image here was downsampled to a width of 1000 pixels. I used Indigo 9t7 64bits.
The final full-res result didn't look too bad, but there was still noise apparent underneath the sofa and inside the coffee table. It looks much better at this resolution. I used a sun as the main light (with exit portals), but I added three big filler lights around the scene to help clear the noise faster. The relatively shallow DOF made it a big longer to render.

You are of course, the master of texturing, and camera setup.

Cheers guys. Glad u like it. It gets easier if you don't have to model anything
Hey Jurasek: Yep, the walls are diffuse. Since all the rest is phong apart from the fabrics, I figured I'd kill my CPU if I didn't have a little bit of light-absorbing mat there. Of course, in real life they wouldn't be...
