Particle strands, Is it possible to get that in next export?

Post by tobak30 » Wed Feb 28, 2007 10:47 pm

I was wondering if there was a possiblility to get some particles such as gras fur and hair into the indigo renderer? Is it made some work on making that come true?

apologize that revitalizing this old topic, but the question is still relevant. perhaps something changed in the new version?
if not, can someone tell how to convert particles (grass, fur) in mesh? (if it is possible)

i did it! i've exported "hair" in OBJ format and imported it back. it became a mesh but it was still invisible in render because there was only edges. so i had to extrude these edges and then faces.
for these kind of pictures - it is a solution , but for lawn or carpet....
what can you offer?

actually, that's a great solution ;)

there was a python script for such stuff - but aswell as your Idea, it just created edges or vertices from particles - no volume ;)
