Blendigo 0.8 object turns from green to black

Post by JavaJack8 » Sun Sep 02, 2007 4:48 am

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong here? The object ought to be green in both cases.

Hi!

I am a beginner, but you will press the Conv button (right side of the Blender mat name) it will be good. But it will be Phong material.

Actually, I did use the conv button. It converted to Specular material. Try it with my .blend file.

if u want a transparent specular material you have to press the "transparent" button in blendigo-gui inside the specular material settings. Otherwise use a nice green phong material.

It's cause of "Ray Mirror" that Conv button generates a specular-blendigo material (normaly used for perfect mirror). If i look your blender material i suggest you should use a phong material for blendigo

Zeugs, you lost me. I _don't_ want anything transparent (see the .blend file, filt is set to 0.0 and Ray Transp is unchecked). It's not clear what made you think I wanted transparency since the green object in top picture is not transparent either :)

I've checked your blend file, and i've found the problem you haven't turned on the Transparent button next to where you input the IOR value, btw if it was meant to be a glass sculpture the IOR value should be 1.5.

Why is everyone thinking it was meant to be transparent/glass? I want glossy solid green just like the blender internal render :) Like a car - solid color but you can see your own reflection in it, dimly.

Cause Specular material is usually used for transparent materials.
You should use Phong instead.

As recommended: Phong. It's awfully dull, though.
