"They came at night" w.i.p
Hey all.
I've started a new project yesterday and I personally like where it's heading. I've rendered a preview render of what I've got so far (10.5 hour render - Blender 2.42 - Indigo 0.5).
Ideas, critics, tips and comments are really appreciated.
Cheers

Roger, very nice image! Did you do anything special to get the translucent lampshade? I haven't tried this yet, but was wondering how indigo handles translucency.
BTW, "they" are little blockheads? Or are they carrying cubes on their shoulders?

"They" are indeed "blockheads" .
Thanks for the reply's guys! Glad you like where it's heading.
About the black line, sprocket, it's the on/off rope but it's way too bright to see it correctly. There is also the sticks that carey the lampshade. See the image below to see what I mean.
Balder, the one nearest to the camera is going to get a nice bevel and will be placed a bit more close to the camera, but far enough to don't see exactly what it is.
Mzungu, the lamp is
1: a meshlight: lightbolb
2: a meshlight: the outer faces of the lampshade
3: the inner faces of the lampshade (duplicated the outer one and scaled it a bit down) is just a diffuse material, as is the sticks that carey the lampshade.
A detail, quick render, the lamp.
I'm gonna lower the brightness of the lamp and give the background-plane (actual background is black to deactivate the light simulation from the sky) a less white color. Also, the guys in the background (there is even climbing one on the stairs) are too less visible. Gonna need to fix this. And I'l need to render it for quite a bit longer (this one took 10.5 hours........removed a lot of grain in post-pro......I think, on my poor system, the final render is gonna take ages!)
C&C is still most appreciated guys

Yes, I agree about the wall. I'm gonna make it more finer. I'l try using E. Hope that works out nice. Clock is outtahere , I'l redo it, never really liked it.
Eman7613, I don't think such lights will look nice in this scene, but thanks for the idea. And thanks a whole bunch for your offer! If I'l finish it soon, hope I can find the time, guess I will , I'l contact you! Thanks again! Is your computer really fast? Would it take very long still?
Cheers
