WTF how did u. setup the Light and the Floor that it is looking that good way mainitwo ???
light-setup:
- big emitter in the left
- small emitter in the right
- big white diffuse reflektor above

materials:
- floor: pure black phong (ior=1.5,exponent=600)
- sculpt: gold(nk), exponent=900

that easy

I did merge the model in blender. However i had to use edge split on the edge to get a sharp edge between smooth surfaces. Maybe there is a better way ?
Unless it separate ALL faces, edgesplit should not be involved in what I meant. The problem I see is that whereas the surface is smooth and contiguous, the caustics look independant, square based.

Maybe it's related with:

new version of TopMod for Windows and OS/X

Post by dvmorris » Thu Aug 02, 2007 5:52 pm

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that there is a brand new version of TopMod available for Windows and OS/X that makes creating sculptures a lot easier. Try it out here:

http://www.ends170.com/topmod

and check out the video tutorials here:

http://topmod.blip.tv

If you haven't heard of TopMod, it is a free, portable, platform-independent topological mesh modeling system, but the best way to find out is to watch some of the videos.

Let me know what you think. I’m redoing the interface and adding new functions for my graduate thesis research, and I’m always looking for new ideas and critiques. Thanks for your help,

Dave Morris
