yes, like this kind of "preview" too... very elegant...blueplanetdesign wrote:I'd like to see some implementation of something like the "geese" I've seen on Johan Thorngrens web pages...maybe they are "swans"?

I think this is very elegant and visually appealing.
Johan...what do you think?
bpd
but maybe this wouldn't look this good if you try your strawberry Shader on it or your Grunge Textures
But The idea of some kind of "Material Mascot" like blenders ape head is nice!!1!
BTW: This Johan guy knows about Indigo too Just check his script link ^^
We shoud push him to link to the new webside
Keep on pushing like nobodyradiance wrote:come on guys, yuo'll have to do better than this

Just three tips...
A preview model should:
-view SubSurface Scattering >>example<<
-have small bubles inside, to show dubble sided shading >>example<<
-some hard/flat surfaces
Please post what you think is needed...

Yes i thought about it very hard after my first unsucessful attempt and here is what i came up with:
-must have a curved surface
-must have a flat surface
-must have a sharp edge
-must have thin parts and thick parts (for SSS, double sides and absorption)
-must have a part where you can see a reflection of the material on itself
-Must have an easy XML to edit-in the mats (so the model should be .3ds so that you just have to set a path instead of having a bazillion vertex/triangle coord lines)
-the light setup has to be simple but effective
-as fast as possible to render
-must have a unique look for Indigo
-has to be sexy
Anything i forgot?

@radiance:
this looks very great and still simple! Some small hints , I think the diffuse-ring should be a bit smaller to have more view on front sphere and i think the sky is a bit to bright as the floor is already white.
And a small question, the diffuse thing with the indigo logo onit, is it a ring or a disc?
At all very impressive!
Also i like the atlas of Noyb, it's a bit more complex but has very nice material effects. Perhaps the foot is a bit to long.
To all, very nice works! i'm realy impressed

Hey radiance...
For me your Model is the winner.... it is very simple & stylish... well done BUT:
As Zuegs told before, the grey Ring is realy to big... it simply covers tooo much of the Material...
Second one is the logo tilling on the Floor... this realy sucks...
a no-go that my teachers at scholl would kill me for
some kind of simple mesh should do the work too..
About the DOF... I don't think this is needed or missed I something?
The last thing is the camera Angle could be just a little more from above...
Perhapes I'll give a last try for a model today, the of my just look like pircings and stuff ^^
The Gallery rocks hard!
