export particles as what?

You can attach meshes to particle positions using parenting and dupliverts (see the duck explosion picture).

There is also a bit of pythonscript you can use to convert particles to real mesh vertices.

what other possibilities would you want?

I think it's kinda dangerous to support features which are only avaible in one software solution, because other softwares got ignored and so Indigo would lose many users, eventho the flagship is the blender<->indigo pipeline.

I was just blended by the thought, not thinking that there where ways to do this already and that it woould be stupid to focus on one 3d app leaving the rest out in the cold. But I also thought that there could be possible to program in a conversion in a blender exporter. Maby that is to hard to do? I don't know. I am not a programmer.

Indigo first needs something that resembles particles for Blender's particles to be useful. as of yet Indigo doesnt have a particle system of any sort so exporting Blender particles would be useless.

uhm...
I thought, that's more or less the clue of this thread:
add GENERAL particle support to indigo.
(+ add Ipo curves + add THIS + add THAT + add THESE + add THOSE...)

Why useless? I can export particles from 3ds max and they render out fine most of the time

I just wish for things like hair and such, for making a fast easy grass setup without going into all that alpha stuff
