REQ - emissive mediums
... would be perfect for all kind of halogen lenses, neon tubes etc.

Not sure what's it all about, but emissive channel is already supported for delta materials and Glossy Transparent ones. In the example below is a GT material with Base Emission, with Emission Scale, etc.

Yeah but that's just the surface emitting the light, which is not what was requested here.

Yeah, I really meant media themselves.
Imagine a Glass cube, with an emittive media inside. So that not the surface emits light, but the medium, the "fog" if pleased, inside of it.
Or am I wrong?

Oh, I see, well, that kind of an effect would be really amazing to see. Animating it would be even better, too! For example, seeing it how it fills a volume, and the light gets brighter as the volume is more saturated with our gas.
But I guess we can't use tricks such as ISL scattering, to achieve it now, since emission is at the moment reserved for surfaces only, so, basically it would emit light from the whole surface, thus killing our "gas" effect.
The way I see this could be done, maybe, is in line with something that was requested long time ago-adding OpenVDB support?
