Oscar's rendering thread
Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Nice! Looks definitely near future. Could imagine it to be in a movie like Gattaca.

Thanks guys!
Here's a small crop of a render I did yesterday that didn't turn out so well.

Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Right, here's a new one from me. Good ol' CPU Pathtracing, rendered over night (~ 5 hours) on my laptop. Renders in something like 20 - 30 minutes on my HD 7970 with the latest beta. Hope you like it!

The misty background is all Photoshop I'm afraid.

Indeed. Is this a matter of minutes, with OpenCL, or ... ?

Re: Oscar's rendering thread
Yeah, well the first one is about 10 minutes, the other one 30 minutes (super big bokeh). The (single) emitter is not very big so the scene isn't very easy for single dir PT.
My 7970 is no slouch, but it would be quicker with more modern GPU(s) of course.

A little CPU animation test I did which Nick rendered. There is visible noise, particularly in the last part, so we'll try with GPU soonish
