Bump/Displacement to Normal Map Converter and Vice Versa

Post by riley1389 » Mon Mar 16, 2015 1:04 am

Hey everyone, I just wanted to make a tool known that I've been using for a long while now called njob. It's a little piece of software made by Charles Hollemeersh and it's essentially an all around CGI map convertion app. It supports:

- Diffuse to Displacement
- Displacement to Ambient Occlusion
- Displacement to Normal (Which is by far the most useful option in my opinion!)
- Normal to Displacement
- Normal to Ambient Occlusion

Also, what's nice about this is that unlike the normal map plugin for Photoshop that's made by Nvidia, it's dead simple to use but still really effective! It's also an independent program so for those who can't afford the luxury of Photoshop, this is an excellent alternative.

It cane be found here -- http://charles.hollemeersch.net/njob

Mind you, the software hasn't been updated in well over a year, and it most likely won't ever be again. However, that's no reason not to use, because I've used it with 1k all the way up to 8k maps, although 8k takes a few minutes, it still does a great job!
