SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Another issue: see attached images. Something is being exported badly (the red-circled objects are actually hidden)
Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Another issue: I wanted to manually hide each object seen in the previous post. Each time I select an object and check the "invisible to camera" option, render automatically starts again...

Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
That is how "invisible to camera" is currently functioning, in order for all of the various possible interactions to be properly calculated, the scene file (or similar) has to be updated and processed from scratch. At least that is my understanding.
On your hidden objects, if they are "hidden" in sketchup but showing up in indigo, you may need to explode the component/group. This is my standard fix for reference problems, Components within components can be confusing to sort out who trumps who.

The problem is that it starts, even when you have manually stopped the rendering.STUDIO AARON wrote:That is how "invisible to camera" is currently functioning, in order for all of the various possible interactions to be properly calculated, the scene file (or similar) has to be updated and processed from scratch. Same issue with anything to do with displacement... Change the map values, subdivisions of at object etc... Keeps auto restarting every time.
Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
I am having the same issue as Snorky. A dummy component referencing an external mesh works fine by itself, but the textures are lost when the dummy component is scattered. I have tried changing the textures of the dummy component, first to arbitrary textures and then to the textures of the component itself, but to no avail. See the image below.
Snorky can you share a model that worked for you?

Hi guys, I report a weird effect when working with glasses: here I'm trying to reproduce a photovoltaic glass pane, but it renders out very strange (the photovoltaic cells disappear and odd black triangles pop out..).
I'm using the latest Indigo and SkIndigo versions obviously.. and sketchup 2015.

Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Looks like a normals issue to me, but I'm sure you've checked that.
Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
or z-fighting (two triangles very close or exactly on top of each other)
Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Both checked.
Ono, I need a clarification: the z-fighting issue regards the glass pane triangles, right? Because I've checked that and the closest triangle was 2mm far from the glass, I always check the gaps. I knew the smallest interval was something around 0.0001mm, did you guys change it maybe?
EDIT: the attached skp files is made of 2 glass panes and a gap of 3mm between them; in the empty space there are the photovoltaic cells, at about the mid distance. Deleting one of the two glass panes and making the other one thicker solves the issue. I'd like to model two glass panels though, is that possible?

Pibuz!!!!!!!!
your model has no error... and indigo works fine!
test: move your component from its place to sketchup origin...
for me render it's ok

sorry for late response.
if you scatter a model without material in it (only with default material) and this model have an external mesh linked, the model scattered have no material on render.
the "dummy" model mustn't have any default material.
try this:
draw a simple square (one for each materials and set it) and save component.
set scatter and render.
the model should have inverted material.
reopen dummy model
make a double click on a square and set the back face material like the front face material
works?
...this is tedious...
I hope to have explained well, my english is not so good, as Pibuz knows!
Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
Hi Snorky and Marc,
I have not achieved a good result with scattering of external meshes yet. (see my post here http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 53#p130653)
Snorky I tried to do it like you had described in your post but with no success. Could you possibly check my test model and tell me what I am doing wrong? There is a link to skp file and xfrog model:
http://www.uschovna.cz/en/zasilka/FAUWAXUN45N2BGB7-6R2/
(after opening of skp file, please link the tree group to the xfrog file)
I hope you can help me, still getting results like in the picture below, I am desperate...

Re: SkIndigo 3.8.25.2 (beta)
cocash,
don't be desperate, this is not an Indigo problem.
If you take a closer look, you will see that there is a wrong texture on the leaves, see attached. It's the bark texture. So it seems to be a problem with the obj. I think this could be easily fixed, I just don't have time for it right now. Will have a closer look this evening.

take a look...cocash wrote:Hi Snorky and Marc,

frist: (like you set the dummy + a square with default material) and after: (with exploded component of 3 square near dummy...)
