Some new work
Re: Some new work
Nah not really... Great stone, wood and concrete, but (afaik) they haven't done a dedicated brick package, and the few they had in a general texture bundle weren't anything special, certainly not great for close up..

Re: Some new work
CHF: Wow! Those textures are awesome. Have a look bubs, there are a few at 4k+ res.
Re: Some new work
Thanks CHF i did know about that website, I'm always trying to specify their brick on real projects but they're always the first thing to go
Only problem with them is they are quite specialist bricks, and not laid in a standard half bond...
I did, however, find an excellent little free program called bricks'n'tiles http://www.bricksntiles.com/ which creates seamless textures for you from individual brick images, at whatever resolution you want up to something like 16000x16000 pixels! It randomizes the images and flips them horizontally & vertically to avoid repetition. I'm playing at the minute, looks promising!

Re: Some new work
First tests of the brick I just made. I think I'm pretty happy with this Was able to make a non-repeating texture (40 x 18 bricks) (3000 x 4050 mm) all at this resolution, very quickly and easily.

That looks spot on. Well done!bubs wrote:First tests of the brick I just made. I think I'm pretty happy with this Was able to make a non-repeating texture (40 x 18 bricks) (3000 x 4050 mm) all at this resolution, very quickly and easily.

Re: Some new work
100% brickness. Great!
Re: Some new work
Tried re-rendering an old scene with grass / ground cover using Skindigo's built in scatter options. I could never get this scene to work with manually scattered grass as the scene was just much for my computer / sketchup to handle, so I'm delighted that not only did the scatter work, but worked well!
Just under 190,000 scattered objects, most of which were patches of grass with several hundred individual blades of grass each.

Re: Some new work
very cool!
For the scattering did you use external meshes or imported models? I still have issues with materials applied to external objs....

Re: Some new work
Thank Pibuz! I used imported SU models, as I wasn't sure if the .obj issues had been fixed yet.

Re: Some new work
Not a huge fan of that grass, it looks a bit dense and matte. Also the colour of it seems like it could be a bit darker and more saturated. Really like the house and the trees though!
Re: Some new work
It's actually exactly the same grass and settings as http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/dow ... &mode=view but it didn't seem to come out the same... ah well.. keep on trying!
Re: Some new work
Tiny amount of colour correction only, otherwise Indigo out of the box. Been playing a lot with 'atmosphere' for a dusty / hazy look.
