Thanks. It's a trick using two fbm's, but indeed the shader is meant to evolve with multifractal's. The soil, as well as rocky formations, have a constant level of detail currently. This would change that.

Hi everyone!

I just finished this render for my 3D class at NAD, Montreal. Done in 2 weeks.
We had to make a 3D object that looked like a photo.

I used Cinema 4D, Indigo, Photoshop and Marvelous Designer, the render is in 4K.

Hope you like it!

They might boot you from school for cheating you know...

Seriously, that's as real as I have ever seen here. Any chance for a wireframe please?

Haha, thanks everyone!

Voytech, here is a screenshot from the view, there are too much polygons on the fabric for a wireframe render...

I recon it's like a good Vangelis track to me, climbing to the top. I have used the camera to spot the bay coordinates, thinking in passing the baby to kklors if he can build a soviet base or anything there there ;)

Ono, please consider the picture as a submission to the Nature gallery. The shader is a two-liner multiplied with itself in different ways.

Hey, neo0. you could make a use of sharp edges and auto smoothing based on the edge angle. But those tools' names depend on what you are using for modeling. P.S. That filename :)

Re-rendered an old test scene of mine.

Caustics came out okay, though I still wonder how others have produced those fancier ones heh...
