Difference between Standalone and Plug-in GUI

Post by Ilay » Wed Sep 17, 2014 10:50 pm

Hi to all

Sorry if i missed it anywhere of cindigo section.

But why has cindigo such difference between Standalone and Plug-in GUI?

I mean
i choose phong type, then go to phong channel, have not shader/texture editor or any with indigo gui?!

Another type of control... or lack of c4d api or attempt to synthesize any data(specular reflectivity + color/texture slot)

Arthur, it is closer but same to indigo mat if user switch between cindigo and indigo, he/she watch difference in mat editor

of curse i read concept of work-flow for indigo mats. Seems fused synthesized useful nodes, without useless controls

The goal of the C4D exporter is to include Indigo controls in a way a C4D user is used too, therefor some control may be a little different compared to the Indigo Standalone GUI (but with the same results!)

The main Idea here is that a C4D user even never needs to bother with Indigo Standalone settings tweaking, since you can render with Indigo inside C4D...

A Blender Exporter tries to adapt to Blender Workflow etc. ...

Please point out the exact (!) issue you have, where is the problem?

I discuss with one user of other c4d forum. He said that external mat made in indigo and loaded as external - it's differ if he recreate it in cindigo. What why he ask me or somebody why such difference(in preview too)? Like he missed several controls of gui

I pointed to him at same pictures as you.

There should be absolutely no difference, if there is, then he found a bug

Maybe you can get from him this two materials (the igm and the c4d file) so the devs can check it out!

The C4D exporter has now a new material type btw: "External Material"

With that you can link the C4D mat to a (P)IGM. This is very usefull if some new Indigo materials or features aren't suported on day 1 by the exporter...

Textures from channels Spec.reflection and color, and also Fresnel's values aren't imported. And it would be desirable to have opportunity to use textures of the found materials for adjustment. The option external - not выхот from a situation. And if available only plug-in?

Ok, I think I know the Problem you have barin!

You are savin IGM files from Indigo Stand alone!
This files do not include the textures!!!

You have to save materials a PIGM thats Packed IndiGo Material, they will contain textures zipped into the file and transfarable between users ;)

Forgive, the last questions:
1 . Whether creation of the certain editor of materials (in one window open library, editing with viewing of the enclosed materials, shutdown of such materials (as layers) the Maxwell editor), kickback of actions is possible?
2 . Viewing of materials in local library according to catalogs?
3 . Maintenance of viewing of loaded materials (Cinema 4D) by icons?
Once again excuse!

ehhhmmm... I don't think I understood this question?
Are you using google translate?
In general I can advice you to tweak you materials inside of C4D, don't bother with the standalone!
Simply use the interactive Viewport Region render to tweak material, its like a Real Time Preview.
A real RealTime Preview (even faster reacting) is planned but simply not done btw.

You should be able to create Materials in C4D and save them into the C4D Content Browser, have you tried that?
There is a Indigo Standalone Material Library with all the materials you downloaded from the online library:

See No. 2 or do I understand that wrong?
