Some new work
Re: Some new work
Some actual paid for work for a very good friend of mine. Good fun on a tight timeline
Re: Some new work

You sicko: you've put the water grid outside the doors.. Great detailing!

Re: Some new work
Top stuff.
Not a fan of the fake DOF on the nearby grass though

Fake! I'm hurt! It was totally a time scale thing here, simply didn't have any trial and error time at all, so just had to fluff it a bit... The Client was happy anyway! But they are much easier to please than you guys!OnoSendai wrote:Not a fan of the fake DOF on the nearby grass though
Re: Some new work
It's easy to see because the blur is a bit much and the transition is too sharp.
Glad the client liked it though

Re: Some new work
Was about to say that about the DOF as well. It's easy to make good DOF in photoshop. Just use the gradient tool to create a gradient that goes along the ground, and use that gradient with the lens blur tool.
Otherwise great work!

Re: Some new work
Yes I normally use the depth pass to produce just that effect, but as I said this was a bit of a rush job, and obviously it shows...
Re: Some new work

thanks! And yes you are correct about the grass... I'd say 'well spotted' but really from you I'd expect nothing less!Zom-B wrote:Awesome results mate, really well done!

Close-up view of the brick house I've been tinkering with. Thought I'd try a black and white version too...
Re: Some new work
you do know the beam soffit / construction would very likely never look like that?bubs wrote:Close-up view of the brick house I've been tinkering with. Thought I'd try a black and white version too...
Re: Some new work
@juju - this is a real house, and the soffit looks exactly like that.

Re: Some new work
There is a concrete beam as a lintel over the large opening and then full bricks are hung from this with proprietary masonry hangers, not really very difficult, but looks good.
A bit like this (only with concrete beam not steel)
