[REQ] Dusting off some old requests
Re: [REQ] Dusting off some old requests
Hi.
A simple possibility to the region render connected directly with the chromatic noise (fireflies) involved in the caustics processes.
There are two basic groups:
RGB > the order of convergence is blue red green and converges in a middle run.
CYMK > this are the important ones and need a drastic run.
A note about this is that a yellow one (always pure colors) must decrease the brightness jumping from CYMK to RGB (red noise is the last residual of CYMK). All this behaviour is perfectly visible in the raw format process of convergence.
Could exist a simple automask that speaks pure colors for that?
Thanks in advance. If is a silly thing excuses, but is so simple...
Edit: This happens with the presence of real tabulated mediums, mie_cumulus phase, reflections of some NK files, ...

Re: [REQ] Dusting off some old requests
We have added support for rendering when textures are missing. A grey texture is used instead, and a list of missing textures is displayed in the GUI while rendering proceeds.
Will be available in 3.8.4.

"The carbon fibre material is an interesting challenge actually, that can't really be done in Indigo efficiently currently.
It really needs a smooth dielectric coating material for the resin, and then a substrate for the carbon fibre with its own shading normal. Currently in Indigo the substrate can't have an independent shading normal. I'll try and improve this at some point.

Will have a look at it after 3.6 is done."

THAT'S WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!
Re: [REQ] Dusting off some old requests
Damned, I wish I had this some times ago
If you remember, the custom carpaint I had done some times before was based on this.
Now I can render my freediving fins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ni9xymsYgJE
(They were the inspiration for it!)
