Textures
Textures
Hello all,
I've been away from the CG world for too long, and now that I'm starting to make my way back I'm finding it's a slightly more diverse animal than the one I was used to several years ago. I'm currently shopping around for a collection of wood textures (and possibly metal, and anything else useful for top-quality product visualization). A few years ago, the go-to would have been Arroway. Although very high in quality, they are of course fairly expensive, so before I go that route I just wanted to make this post to see if anyone here knows of any less-expensive, equal-or greater quality alternatives that may have surfaced since I've been on my hiatus.
So basically- where are the good textures at nowadays?

Didn't try this software myself yet, but I've heard it was able to create your own set of seamless textures.
Its's even able to create different maps for diffuse, spec, bump/displacement/normal channels.
I love my arroway textures but every now and then you won't find that special texture you need right now, maybe that app can help you transform highres textures (cgtextures.com) to good quality seamless textures
best regards
Markus

I generally use Photoshop for eliminating seams, but that looks awesome, thank you!

PixPlant:
I bought this last week and I think it is really useful.
I have many of the Arroway textures and still think that.
