indigo 3.6.26 crashing when rendering caterpillar
indigo 3.6.26 crashing when rendering caterpillar
As mentioned above I am running in win7 ultimate 32bit. when I render with Aperture diffraction it crashes in my pc showing "Indigo.exe had stopped working". I tried trial rendering of the caterpillar (which is in test scenes) at that time also it shows the same as above please help me what to do. I am currently using indigo for sketchup and blender.
Re: indigo 3.6.26 crashing when rendering caterpillar
Double check the RAM usage of the rendering scene. Activating aperture diffraction is quite RAM consuming, and might result in a crash if you lack memory on your system.
32bit systems are also limited to a maximum of 4GB per application, for some even only 2GB. I actually have no idea how Indigo behave there, 32bit systems are rare in that business... if you ever update, go for 64bit!

Hi.
Please do this single test.
Open indigo gui.
Load caterpillar scene.
Found branch_phong material and deactivated the displacament (has an ISL texture).
Launch the render.
(This is from memory and not sure if is the same case, if works without apperture nevermind...)

Re: indigo 3.6.26 crashing when rendering caterpillar
Hi.
Only two months later...
If you want to basicaly run with 3.6.26 and windows 32-bits or linux 64-bits it´s suggested to replace the file ISL_stdlib with the one from 3.6.16 version (is the last that works). The fact is that in this distributions the "core" of the program seems to be the one from the 3.6.12 version (almost this is shown in the overlay info and console mode). In this way, the new ISL functionalities will be lost (multifractal function as example) but all the code before works fine; as the shaders do ! (hope).
This behaviour don´t occurs in 3.8.(0-1-2) ...
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: WINDOWS 32 bit compilation is allrigth for 3.6.26 (waiting for a confirmation in linux 64 ( could be a local problem)) and this crash is not related atm with this suggestion.
