Using photography....to improve your work.

Post by maeglin1 » Mon Jan 27, 2014 4:15 pm

Since understanding photography seems to be very important in producing good renders, not just in Indigo, but all render software, does anyone know a good Website or Blog that teaches you the BASICS of photography that's really easy to understand for beginners.

Something I can PRINT-OUT and put in my Hong Kong Book of Kung Foo.

Thanks. I found a index of terms on the net.... explaining what Aperture, F numbers etc...but I was wondering if there is a Blog or YouTube Video that shows you how to take good architecture or interior photos. I have learned alot. I dug up my Canon EO5 (analog) from the depth of a chest and looked at it with new wonder. I now know what the P.T.A.M. mean on the control wheel. Need to get a new battery though.
It was given as a gift just as digital became the rage and I did'nt use it.

I thought if I know abit more about photography it would help me with Indigo cos there are alot of terms used that confuse me.

Found a good tutorial on YouTube. How to take professional interior photos
and re-touch in Adobe Lightroom.

Actually i would add that majoring in photography has really helped me improve my renders cause now i do understand what things like aperture, focal length, etc are ive tried to emulate some of the studio lighting setups ive used and ive really been impressed with the results. Now, currently, there is no way to emulate a flash in indigo afaik although i remember a discussion awhile back on this.

no way to emulate a flash? of course there is - just model a small light source and position it right above your camera (or wherever the flash is located on the particular camera model you want to emulate)

Just FYI the "Indigo 100" badge was awarded to the first 100 people that bought a license of Indigo Renderer. That's not a user name ;-)
