Interesting!
Even though there are a million bubbles, they still seem a bit sparse visually, and significantly larger than they would be in real life. I wonder if you were running into Indigo limitations rendering this scene? I know it can take a while to build the scene when you start getting up around that number of objects.

Yep I agree, it has to do with the front bubbles covering the ones behind. I had the body emitting 20K particles per frame and the render was at frame 74. Also about 1/3 of the bubbles were floating above the water surface at the given frame.

Indigo had no problems at all exporting that. C4D's Render Instances works perfectly well with Indigo be it using a scatterer, cloner or particles. I don't know what happens behind the curtains, but anything that works with Render Instances is very fast and RAM easy.

Eeek a belated one, the flu and work killed me a bit recently.

Gave SS5 and 8 light layers a try : )

Thanks people! Big compliment. Maybe I'm going to do stuff for prints one day or render this one out in ultra high res if there's interest.

Still no time for the weekly works at the moment really, but still manage to do them at least once in a while.

Hey man,
please seriously think about selling your images to a publisher which is scifi-related...
Cheers, David

Thanks people! Goal for next year is definitely to kick out some more refined works as print.

Speaking of which, I'm trough a year of weeklies now and will continue doing them for as long as I can, but will try out more stuff except for environments next year. Unfortunately I only managed to do 42 pieces this year, due to batshit crazy working hours etc.

To celebrate getting trough this year at least a bit I will raffle this week'S piece as a A2 print on my FB page this weekend. So just check by later today or tomorrow at: https://www.facebook.com/kokolores123 if you feel like having it on your wall.

Awesome shit, as usual! Could be some concept art for a Deichkind scenic design!

I would say that if every material becomes a (weak) emitter you end up with such a look (and so few noise!)...

Thanks Ono and Zom!

Yeah it's an Indigo render indeed. There is some post DOF which blurred away quite some noise, but also as Zom said, anything being an emitter was clean right away more or less. Also it obviously looks way less noisy in 1440p than the original that was made for print in 7.5K and later upscaled to 8.3K.

Because rendering in this res was kind of RAM heavy I haven't had the luxery of using tons of light layers this time and only had 3, but saved like 20 or so different light setups and blended them, which altered the look but also removed some noise in places because I was able to take specular and noise ares from differently lit versions.

No weekly, but some random stuff I rendered this night while experimenting with shapes.
