Nice! Where did you get the wood texture? Arroway?
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Thanks. Nothing in that render is mine I should add. Wood texture is from here: http://www.indigorenderer.com/materials/materials/1125Oscar J wrote:Nice! Where did you get the wood texture? Arroway?
Had to modify the bump and scale but other than that it was almost perfect. It's a small tile though so that's why the really shallow DOF. The cup and spoon are from a sketchup plugin. EXR was off the net somewhere. I SIMPLY put it all together
Edit: Ok, I lied. The table I made.

ENSLAVER, your "lasertest" is fantastic. Can't stop looking at it... but what is it?! Could you share your setup?
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Sure I posted it a while ago *searches* Ahh this post: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 75#p117675 There is one with fog and one without. The 3.6.22 update "Greatly improved responsiveness of realtime scene/camera changes with MLT." Is awesome for the fog scenePolinalkrimizei wrote:ENSLAVER, your "lasertest" is fantastic. Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Such an awesome scene, great work! The image is kinda brutally JPEG compressed though

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. Sorry about that, it's ''a bit'' Lightroomed...

Brutal JPEG compression, I hear you say?

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
That's definitely cleaner, but still quite JPEG compressed (e.g. in the topright corner, the red lines get smudged); basically the JPEG saving from Indigo is not always at the quality I'd like personally Although, if there's any kind of postprocessing to be done (as in this case), the intermediate file really should be a PNG or TIFF etc to avoid excessive artifacting due to double lossy compression.
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Thanks. I only resave it in PS from PNG to JPG level 8. Thanks for the tip
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Ah then that's ideal (working from PNG). However, one thing about Photoshop is that it does not let you disable "chroma subsampling", where basically 2/3 of the image gets stored at 1/4 resolution! This is often easily seen in the red channel, especially in areas of contrast.
That's why I always use Irfanview for my final JPEG conversion (although GIMP has the option too), and keep this image in dropbox to link to people about it: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/303 ... images.png
PS. I fully understand that I am way too picky about JPEG quality I already told PureSpider when we met in Berlin, that my "private hell" consists of beautiful CG images which are terribly compressed and mushy... hence his abuse above
