SkIndigo 3.6.16 (beta) - updated 27 June 2013
SkIndigo 3.6.16 (beta) - updated 27 June 2013
Hello,
This is a beta release and it has not been tested very much. You need Indigo 3.6.0 or greater to use this version.
To Install:
1) Download RBZ file from link below
2) In SketchUp, go to Window->Preferences->Extensions->Install Extension
3) Select the RBZ file you downloaded
Some features are WIP. You can now create custom preview scenes by selecting 'New.." from the preview scene dropdown list. You just need to have a material in your scene named 'previewmaterial'. There is no way yet to delete a custom preview scene. They are stored here:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Indigo Renderer\su_preview_scenes
The 1m scale preview scene is not working fully yet. You can try it out but it does not scale displacement properly yet (it works with absorption and media settings though).
Material loading of the new material types also does not work yet.
#Version 3.6.16
#Fixed: bug with custom preview scene directory not being automatically created
#Fixed: enabled support for GIF textures as they are now supported by Indigo
#Version 3.6.14
#Added: support for Double-sided thin materials
#Changed: moved emission map setting to 'Emitter Attributes' section in UI
#Changed: map dropdown option to say 'None' instead of 'Constant' to be consistent with Indigo UI
#Added: support for Coating material
#Added: fresnel scale for Phong materials
#Added: support for spherical camera
#Added: 1m scale Indigo preview scene - WIP
#Added: ability to easily create custom preview scenes - WIP
#Changed: Exit Portal materials now replace exit portal meshes
#Fixed: full path of textures now shown in texture editor
#Fixed: Made Indigo preview scene render faster

Thanks Whaat! Seems great..
..why so many wip functions though? You want us to drool even more?
I'm working on several projects at the moment so I don't want to mess the work up with the new versions: I'm going to test them as soon as possible!

Re: SkIndigo 3.6.14 (beta)
Ah..there is a bug where SkIndigo is not creating the directory for custom preview scenes. I will prepare a fix. If you manually create the directory for 'su_preview_scenes' it should work in the meantime.Jeff Hammond wrote:here's the error:Hi Jeff,

Hi Whaat, nice work! I still have a problem though.
I have SU 2013 installed, the following issue occurs with the 3.6 beta aswell with the older stable version of Skindigo.
When I apply a bumpmap in the material editor the ticking box automatically untics itself after pressing "Accept" in the 'assign texture window'. It isn't a one texture scenario, doesn't work with many maps I used before..
Keep up the nice work!

Strange, I will look into this. Is it just for bump maps?
Can anyone confirm? Is there a sequence of repeatable steps?

Works well for me - the only issue I have is the scroll bar from the materials preset flyout window is missing so I can't scroll down through the presets. I have to expand the window to see the ones I want.
Also seems to export slower and open the material editor slower, but I might be imaging that.
I like the exit portals as a material now, thats a lot more intuitive
