procedural materials?

Post by dafassi » Thu May 02, 2013 4:49 am

Hi there.
Im very new to indigo and working with blender.

I have a problem using materials including procedural textures.
iE: Using a simple plane and unwrapped it (to get UVs).
Rendering that in Indigo shows the basic material settings WITHOUT any TEXTURE.
The same when i import materials inside of Indigo (so it cannot be a blender exporter bug).

Hope you can tell me what i am doing wrong :)

Dennis

Hi dafassi, and welcome!

Unfortunately Blender's procedural textures don't work within Indigo. YET. I still hope they will one day.
Until then, you'll have to bake them.
It does work flawlessly in cindigo though, so ... any news on this, Glare?!

+1. Add a node based material editor with the new PyNodes to the wish list as well

No i was not talking about blenders internal procedural textures.
I tryed one from the indigo-database (ceramic-procedural-bump.igm),
and this will not be rendered correctly in indigo!
