Simple Renderings Thread
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Agreed! But what is it? Looks like of some kinda clock project to me!
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Thank you. Materials are from the database: fast carpaint and simple red car paint.ENSLAVER wrote:That's a great material/lighting setup.
The setup is a very simple one:

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
I am too playing with it. Trying to do a metallic carpaint.
Re: Simple Renderings Thread
@voytech: looks really promising, love that fresnel gradient on it!
@oscar j: those metallic freckles already look good but maybe you should take a closer look to the distribution of those on a car paint. i think these should be less visible on lower view angle(fresnel)

Trying out new glossy transparent with a SSS test.
Head model is the 'infinite head'.
Scattering coefficient is 1000, but it's still too low

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
That looks really promising, but the guy looks way to puffy, check the ears!
If you use Displacement on him, maybe the map is centered, so you'll need to set C to: -1*(b/2)
Also double check the gamma for the displacement to be 1 for RGB or 0.656565 for grayscale image.

Good point about the displacement centering. I'm not sure about your gamma values though. I think 2.2 is probably correct. hard to know for sure tho.Zom-B wrote:That looks really promising, but the guy looks way to puffy, check the ears!

Regarding that I made some experiments a while ago that are worth to take a look at:OnoSendai wrote:Good point about the displacement centering. I'm not sure about your gamma values though. I think 2.2 is probably correct. hard to know for sure tho.
