True, the black one does look a little like plastic... looks like a screenshot of a cool racing game
but it's a cool shot, and your new coating looks promising!

Trying a simple modelled scene. Getting noise at 2000 s/p even though I'm using BiDir MLT. :(

Can you please depict the materials for the carpaint and floor ? I'm suspecting the floor material to be playing a noticeable role in that noise, perhaps because of a high frequency noise in the bump texture.

Is this using 3.6 beta ?

PS: there is still the option to rise the supersampling factor in such cases.

Thanks CTZn, I think a supersampling of 5 helped.

What do you think, should I let this render?

I would double check the color of your carpaint,
it seems quite over saturated. lower the yellow value down to 204 :)

I would also try the new coated material in beta 3.6.0 for the carpaint!

I'm still waiting for the blender 3.6 exporter.

Meanwhile I'm working on a Koenigsegg Agera R.

I suppose this doesn't quite belong here, but I still wanted to show you what I did with my Wacom Bamboo board I got for Christmas. :)

Superb design, I would love to see that car modelled in 3D!

That's a good idea! I tried to draw it with smoother lines, I hope you like it. :)

Here's an overnight render I did of my old Jag geometry. C&C are welcome!

You can inset the displacement by setting the C parameter to minus B. The maximum displacement height will then match with the original plane height before displacement (pushing in details instead of pulling them out).
