Hi Delle,
Good point, I hadn't thought of that.
There will probably be a restriction though that the material on each side can't transmit light. This is so the transmitted component is the same in both directions (front -> back and back -> front). So null materials won't be allowed.

I see, do you think it will be be possible to add a special attribute to a Mesh ("single sided") in order to let it behave as I described? I think it's a modification into intersection code. More or less like you already did for exit portals (they are only visible in one direction).

I have been waiting for this a long time! :D This whole workaround with blending materials and such weren't my bing bang of stuff

Now add a fur/grass generator and I'd find Indigo the all in one solution =D

Since new C4D Exporter now supports the new mats, here is my first test with the double sided material.
I really like the transmittance look of the leaves now :)
I'm not that satisfied with the C variant atm, but its kind of hard to work with roughness now, and getting a feel for fresnel scale too...

Just another noob question, but where do i find the new material? Just installed 3.6.8, or is it not available for SkIndigo?

Not yet, hopefully soon. You can still use it by creating the material with the Indigo GUI and then creating a 'Linked IGM' material in SkIndigo.
