Are you allowed to change camera angle or not...?

Yes, you can choose the camera angle how ever you want. Also updated the rules to make it clear.

Another prize upgrade:

2nd place now also gets an Indigo Renderer instead of an Indigo RT :)

maybe it's just my PC specs but the scene is ridiculously laggy in 3ds 2010

Yeah, it's rather complex :)
Feel free to simplify/replace any models with ones that are not quite as performance hungry (we are not going to judge by polycount :D ).

XD

The carpet seems to be the most "complex" mesh in that scene, simply disable it for smooth navigation ;)

..well..I bet!
Can the scene be provided without carpet, and have a separate obj for that?

(I know it is a strange request.........that kind of workflow could ease the use of the SU scene using an external reference)

Hello,

Here is my WIP. Sorry for the grainy image - this is with 5 hours bidirectional MLT. I hope you like it

Looks cool :)

You should consider using exit portals: http://www.indigorenderer.com/documenta ... xit-portal

They help a lot in this scene.

Cheers!

I tried but it is slower than without them. Probably I miss something. Should I apply a kind of material on them. It says "The exit portal material should only be applied to one side of a mesh (e.g. a cube), otherwise it will lose its effectiveness.". I can not find the material. I make a plane with normal towards inside the room and give it the exit portal modificator. Is it enough?

Thanks

Depending on which software you use it may not be a material type. Do you use Sketchup or 3ds Max? C4D?

Not sure how to exactly do it in 3ds max, but the way you described it sounded like it should do the trick :)
