Nice, Stromberg!
Where did you model it? Would like to see a closeup of your beveled edges...
@Pozilei:
Dangge dangge... HQ kommt bald.

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Polinalkrimizei: Thanks I will try out the indigo max plugin today to render out the rest of the props I did yesterday,
I will post here more often when I got comfortable with the plugin
zeitmeister Thanks
Most of my models are done in 3ds max, sometimes using zbrush to add some details but not to often.
Also you might see that my models are more beveled than they would be in real life, that is because they are highpoly models for game art work, so the bevels have to be softer to catch in the normal map bake for the lowpoly

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Minor annoyance: when using the selection tool in the Indigo GUI to render out a part of the scene, the selection doesn't scale with the image if I change the resolution. If I render a small image and then want to select a small portion to blow up, I have to guess where the selection is or start the whole image at high resolution.

@Stromberg:
Oh, good advice with that bevel... always presumed something like that.
Are you working in the game industry?

zeitmeister: Not working in the game industry yet, or anything 3D related for that matter, hoping to get in soon
But I am focusing on game art work.
2 new images from me, the first one is I wanted to test the normal maps in indigo with a model I made some time ago. From top to bottom without normal to fully textured.
Damn, nice watermarks xD

Is the orange a diffuse transmitter material or real SSS?

Thanks!
Leider is the effect just faked
It's a phong with a texture that resembles the colour of the background on some areas. I'll just do one more still with it, and it's much easier for me to set it up this way

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Sure, the orange is just a phong mat with a texture (+ bump and spec).
The areas that appear a little transparent are not, they really just match more or less the background colour. If I'd use a darker backgound, I'd just darken the bright parts of the texture. So there is no SSS or diffuse transmitter or any kind of transparency involved... it is not a very good solution to fake that with a texture, but much easier for me than setting up an SSS slice of orange with actual thickness and different "organic" intestines... btw is there a way to "drive" SSS with a texture?!
