Re: Orthographic camera tests
does this mean we may eventually have the ability to render parallel projection views via sketchup?
Re: Orthographic camera tests
Hi Jeff,
Yes, that's what it's for!
Should be available for testing pretty soon.

Re: Orthographic camera tests
this must be supported by exporter i think...or ?
Re: Orthographic camera tests
Hi DCM,
You will be able to select an orthographic camera either in the exporter, or in the Indigo GUI.

Awesome Ono!

+1 pixie ^^
Available soon, that's great.
How about FOV ? Such cameras don't have a focusing plane, there would be no blur I assume.

Yes it's possible to have a sphere camera with DOF! They do not have a focusing plane but a focusing sphereCTZn wrote:+1 pixie ^^

Re: Orthographic camera tests
Though I do support the request for latlong renders I was talking about orthographic cameras ! Their aperture is the whole film, and shoot parallel rays so those do not have a notion of focus I assumed.
Still that's one good thing to know about latlong's. StompinTom requested such things long, long ago.

Hi CTZn,
As Etienne told me once, there is such a thing as a real orthographic lens, which does have a focal plane and focus blur - a telecentric lens:

edit: However, I have implemented the orthographic camera in Indigo as you described, as opposed to a telecentric lens.
