indeed, it was the default cindigo setup, once I took off the env light all things behaved as they should :)Zom-B wrote:The reason for this seems to be Indigos auto importance weighting for lights. Your scene has 2 light sources, a mesh light and the envSphereGeometry. The scene with emission not set get calculated flux value automatically and end sup with 1000 times stronger difference between the both light sources. Now the stronger Light also get 1000 times more computation time, and the weaker light stays noisy for ages still contributing to the whole image with the massive amount of noise...pixie wrote:Some groovy stuff. Same scene rendered for 1 minute, one has emission scale set and another doesn't.
This example shows how important a good balance between light sources is, and maybe also that Glare should allow to tweak the importance directly in the future (even on the fly, in the LightLayer tab...)

Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Sorry if this question was already asked, but has anyone tried to use GPU accelation with a HD 5850? The only thing that happens for me is that... 0ks/s and updating image. Is it possible to fix this bug? (I`m using Catalyst 11.6)
Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Yep. Updating image forever and then some...
The one time I tried GPU accel my pc froze with a 5770.

This should hopefully be fixed in 3.0.13, which we will release on Monday.
Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12

Monday when?
Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Hi Vasco,
Sorry about that, it took a bit longer to get the release ready than I thought.
We should be releasing today or tomorrow.

could you maybe not post these links to unreleased builds anymore? (otherwise we have to stop putting them on the website )
Thanks!

Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Glass acceleration doesn't seem to help water stuff. Maybe because it's a volume?
Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Glass has a volume too. I'd assume that it has more to do with the fact that the volume is enclosed by coplanar faces.
Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Ono please add external material support and linux build, would be really appreciate
thx
thx

That's why we didn't call it water accelerationCoolColJ wrote:Glass acceleration doesn't seem to help water stuff.
In all seriousness, the GA is intended to be used for thin sheets (not single interfaces) with low curvature.
Re: Indigo Renderer and Indigo RT 3.0.12
Is it possible to change the exponent for phong materials from the UI? I can only see IOR.
