Erotica 1400spp, cpu have 68 celsia after 1 hour of rendering! Thats awesome. I have still some space to push it up (probably 4,6ghz with 1.25vcore but temps will be higher).
Damn, I might just have to buy one, I feel really inefficient pumping out tons of heat with these old overclocked things. 68C is getting a bit hot, you migth want to turn your fan up a bit ;p What's the ambient room temp when you recorded 68C?
Re: Render Speed comparison (I7 2600K)
about 22C. On stock clock i have 30C in idle / 55C burn
Re: Render Speed comparison (I7 2600K)
Just as info, you can push the 2600k to the 4.5Ghz without problems for 24/7 or even to 5ghz if you have a good batch.
I fixed my Setting to 4.4Ghz, to have adorable temps.
results after 30min:
Caterpillar 520k/sec
Erotica 1490k/sec
Pintest 1050k/sec
62°C Load
32°C Idle @20°C roomtemp
regards

Looks like I may have to upgrade when the next chip after this lot comes out, hopefully with 8 cores
Seems like they run much cooler so, 8 cores in a single chip should be fine.
No point in upgrading if I don't get more cores. And Intel finally puts in native USB3 support
Next gen Intel chip should be 50% faster than an I7 930, plus add 4 more cores and that's nice
With GPU acceleration, a complex render should be done in 2-3 hours tops, off course water renders are a different thing altogether

I don't think that you become a female just by having a avatar that may point in that direction
