Slight update to the materials. I think it looks better.

It does look better neo0., but it also has a wip thread iirc :) If you look carefully, most of the pics posted here are not WIPs even thouh they are sometimes just experimentations.

Thanks guys :D
Some information: made in blender, 24 hours of cooking for each images, just sun light and post-processing in gimp.

Hi everyone , this is my first post here. I wonder how long you render your works (this question is for eg. to dcm and waz). My interior is rendering almost 24 h and still isn't appropriate. (resulution 2100x2000, render mode: bi-directional with MLT) . I think it is too much little white dots. Unfortunately, the difference between the picture after 10 hours and after 24 hours is slight. I need the picture in high resolution ( jpg to catalogue) so I cannot make the smaller picture. I wonder is it my fault (mistake in settings) or the rendering in Indigo (exporter for sketchup) taking so long. I will be grateful for help.

This is my photo after 24 hours.

Hi kjk,

the textures are really too saturated, this is affecting the bounced light. My recommendation would not be to reduce the textures saturation a bit, but a lot ! Maybe not all of them but the most saturated ones.

I think that saturation in textures comes from the capture devices mostly. The resulting pictures are gorgeous to the eye but not suitable for a simulated light transport.

Thanks CTZn.
I'm taking my first steps in Indigo (Skindigo). I don't really know what you mean by saying " reduce the texture saturation". :) I know what saturation is, but how to reduce it ? :) In sketchup (RGB or what?) or by settings in indigo.

Reducing saturation is done in a photo editor like the gimp or Photoshop. It consists roughly in disminushing the color information without affecting the final brightness. I don't know SketchUp ways. It is equivalent to shifting the texture closest to its grayscale version.

edit: you are welcome to create an own thread if you have further questions.

Ok, I know that, thanks. I just thought that there is another way to get rid of noise from the final photo, thought I had wrong settings or bad light.

i think textures are okay. Learn, how to use exit portals. Be sure, that you are using white in RGB space max of 205 value.

What is your cpu ?

Im rendering scenes for 5-6hrs
