Hi jeff.
The building surfaces looks very good.

I've been looking for options on modelling greenery for a scene I have to build.

Did you model the grass on sketchup and place all dummies by copying and pasting?

&

Did you post the new grass after all?

Thanks a lot Pibuz! On these trees I used the leaves that can be found on this model http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... revstart=0 I replaced the leaves on my trees with it. I also made a clip map for it so it will render properly

Thanks compadrelucas! The grass was modeled in sketchup and I had to replace it with a dummy so my computer wont crash. I used the component spray plugin to scatter the dummies. Information on where to get the plugin can be found here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtop ... c55af0d5a3 If you want to, you can also download the environment I used here on page 3 of this thread. The grass on all the scenes was not added during post production. It is a part of the model.

Hi to all! I'm a new user of indigo! :D
I started with maxwell render, then go to vray and now i'm very happy with the results of indigo, but i think that has the same problem as maxwell, lots and lots of time....
Besides that, i love this post from The Farnsworth House by Jeff and i think he's on the right track!
First of all i wanna thank him for sharing the environemt, it's trully amazing!
I think the model has a problem of scale, try to add some object from the component window in sketchup and see if the model isn't 10x more small.
Jeff, please tell me your GLASS window settings!
I make a simple test, i will try to do more later!

Impressive first renderings Marco! Did you perhaps try the Glass Acceleration feature in Indigo 2.6? It should help a lot for rendering the interior part, which is usually slowest to converge.

Im trying to understand how light works...

This is a very particular model, there's no windows in walls, its glass walls, so we dont have very well predifined interior/exterior. I think only one good light solution will work for both (ext/int)

What is better to use: ( ???)

the Indigo sun+ Indigo sky,

or enviroment map (.JPEG or .EXR) + Indigo sun, <- Possible good solution (Uncheck Override Sun Position and control the Sun Position in Sketchup, like you see in the model)

or enviroment map (.JPEG or .EXR) + Emitter Object (Fake sun) <- I think it's the best solution (you got to be pro) :o .
PROS
You can control the shadows (If the object emitter is near or far from the model)
The enviroment map give's you acess to very interesting color mapping in the model
CONS
It's difficult to get the perfect position for Fake sun
find good .exr (finally, thank you! :D http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 5&start=15 and http://freepanorama.blogspot.com/ )
get a very good combination between env map and fake sun

Hi marcocapela, thanks a lot for having an interest in this archviz study of the Farnsworth house. Right now I just learned from your tests that it is possible to use an exr map with a light emitter as a fake sun. I never thought of that before! Regarding the glass material, I used the ghost glass for the windows

Since ghost glass was mentioned:

According to lycium, you should give precedence to real glass panes (with thickness) as soon as Glass Acceleration is in your hands (Indigo 2.6.1 with the appropriate exporter).

He sounded like the ghost glass material could be an important factor for a strong and persistent noise and thus that it was not wanted no more.

Thankyou for reply me , but the thing is I still have problems.....sorry to bother you..
1. I have dowloaded the compo_spary but I don't know how that work....
2. The sence is too big, I always to be told that the memory is not enough. What the file size of the scenes?
Show you the work I have done recently, I'm not satisfied with the tree and the grass. Can you help me?

Hi PowerMAx, you can substitute dummies for your components when using this component spray so your computer would be able to handle the scene. Info on how to do it can be found on these threads:

The last link may not be in English but the screen caps are already enough to explain how it's done.

If you want to you can just download the environment I used here on page 3 of this thread. After downloading it, try to render it. If it did not render, then you need more RAM. If it renders, then you can copy & paste your models into it & work from there. Cheers!
