Hi fused,

thank you very much!
But will there soon be versions for C4D R12 too?

Kind regards,
Tom

R12 has some massive changes regarding the SDK, so a simple compiling in this SDK isn't possible,
but a lot of code needs to be changed... Seems like this could take some time!

Did you already bought R12? I'm not very convinced about the new version... great new stuff for animating characters and a nice dynamics overhaul, but Indigo is mostly used for stills in product design and architecture.

Hi Tom,

I'm currently working on a different project but I will commit some time to making a R12 build very soon.

Yeah, I know, but I think it shouldn't be that hard to do, as long as there had been used the SDK provided datatypes and you haven't defined your own. I guess, it'll be mostly a search and replace thing of several symbols.

And it's very well documented by MAXON what to do to make your code working for R12.
See here: R12Development.3.pdf

Yes, cause I have an MSA.

Also, in my opinion, there are in fact several new things in C4D R12 that can be useful for Indigo too.
At first the new real units (if used properly)! I'd say, that's really a great thing together with the so called "double precision" calculations.
And, if in the future supported by Cindigo, also such things like color temperature defined lights, or IES lights, and the camera tonemapping and all that stuff should support setting up a scene in C4D for Indigo, don't you think? ;-)

And I particularly think, the changes and code clean up in the R12 are important preliminary steps for future developments of C4D.

@fused:
Thanks a lot!
I'm looking forward to it. ;-)

Kind regards,
Tom

Thanks :)
