Smoothing problem using latest Indigo

Post by Doug Armand » Sat Jun 21, 2008 1:51 pm

More for others info than anything else.

It appears that using 1.09.6 of Maxigo and the latest stable release of Indigo 1.1.1 smoothing doesn't seem to work.

Being stupid it took me a while to workout what the problem might be that. Seems that going back to Indigo 1.0.9 solves the problem.

Just a heads up in case anyone else is having a similar problem - or maybe its just me

Nope. Works fine here (besides those normal issues).

BTW Suvakas,

The Exporter is excellent. Would be a shame if you stop developement.
Maybe make it shareware?. I would certainly pay a fee. At least until I'm up to speed on blender that is :-)

But seriuosly I would pay a sharware fee for it and hopefully so would others and that would provide you with a reason/justification to continue to update it?

One workaround for normal issues in latest Ingdigo is to turn off normal smoothing for all the models in the scene (smoothing on/off is under utilities rollout on exporte panel). And then turn it on again for smooth objects only. Hard edged models with normal smoothing On could cause problems. I'm not sure, if this would be the only workflow for future too or will Ono do something about it. He's responces haven't been very informative so far.

About the money. Nice idea - give me, give me, give me  :P
