It doesn't get *that* cold in wellington, but it goes down to like 5 degrees C.

(sorry, no translation for that
, abgeflacht means "levelled")

nope, that means, it's a ball, that's not perfectly round, 'cause of the Centripetal (or fugal?) force: it's wider on the equator, than on the poles.
abgeflacht means flattened...
